The north pole is covered in ice about 6-10 feet thick and more than 4,000 meters (13,123feet). In the summer of the north pole it is 0°C (32°F) and in the winter −40° C (−40° F). In the summer they get up to 24hours of sunlight and in the winter 24hours of darkness.
